ABOUT

I have kindred-spirit friends, but there’s something about the friendship that Meg and I have developed that the other kindreds just can’t compare to. We’ve lived through various circumstances with life and travel and ministry and romance as individuals but the seasons have been strikingly, eerily similar. Our souls know the same Father and He has knit our hearts together across miles because He knows we need someone to walk with through the risks and questions and tears and waiting, because He loves to confirm what He has told us through each other, because not having to explain yourself and having someone completely “get” where you are at is such a gift — and He is the giver of good gifts.

“I savor these truths and really do believe that they are fragments of His unfolding story, so worth capturing and treasuring.”

“Its beautiful to watch the inner workings of unfolding. To get through and have an outside perspective on the inside work that led up to the “it” moments.”

“These are the remembrances our heart’s memory needs.”

“I love the documenting in all its transparency. I used to hate the mess of it, the predicting wrong, or the pouring out of heart over something never meant to be, but I love the mess of it now. The not knowing, but knowing the One who does — seeing then how He weaves things to look like they’re all meant to be.”

“My heart beats right there, kindred.”

Meg + I are nomads and nesters, always journeying and always making home. We have talked of moving to the same locations at the same time, but our callings always end up leading us in different directions, and that’s okay. As much as we would love to do life together, without all the miles between us, the distance keeps us dependent on words to close the gap and we are such words people!

We write our hearts better than we speak them and there is something about chronicling the unfolding of time and story that is precious, not only in the moment, but when looked back upon. The unfolding is full of unknowns, but we have lived enough to know that two things are certain: trouble is going to come, we will walk through dark days, and its going to be messy, but we are held by a Love that is sure! As we step out day after day in a faith-pursuit down the path laid before each of us,  though troubles in the world bring death + mess into it, we stand tall knowing that these things meant for our ruin will all be worked in our favor in the unfolding.

We would like to invite you to be witness to the continued unfolding of our lives — the promises and purposes and passions and plans we pursue, the troubles and messes and hurts and endings that come to ruin, and the hope and joy and peace and favor that every penned word of our unfolding stories are continually respun to come out reading: life abundant.

These are the ‘Nomad + Nester Chronicles’ of Meg Murkli + Chelsea Mills.
